Don’t worry! It has been updated with all the latest & peth’s mishap is resulting in further decentralization of the newsletter.
Anyway, we are almost through the month of Octo and 🥶 brrr, its gotten chilly. Well, at least in some parts of the globe! Our Novic Shamanic Researchers have identified October as Nova’s birth month.. having ingested near lethal doses of rare Octopus hallucinogens 🤯, we can confirm this as having been on the 8th.. 🐙🎆 Maybe Party for her over at Metaverse Music Fest now!
So, what are some of the things that have been happening in her name as of late? 🤔

Community calls have been getting busy! We’ve had a non-male speaker every week for 7 or 8 weeks in a row now. Usually set up by peth, tommy or Bacon. This is an excellent development, aligning seamlessly with the radical-inclusion channel started by Musashi. 🏳🌈
The work of InnKeepers 🍻 reaches far and wide, since the last META, tommy kept leading regular Align meetings. with Misanth, Rankko & others supporting, with emphasis community road-mapping. So much work done by this Guild is scattered and hard to enumerate concisely in did-a-thing or gets missed in -give-props. A proportionally distributed XP Initiative is being discussed as it makes too much sense.. 👈🏼 This could get rolled out to all guilds, so may be an important precedent. 👀 How this could work is getting designed. Get a better grasp of the complexity that is involved in community work, here is but a snippet!
Onboarding processes get ceaselessly refined, with tons of care towards the details, forged in the fires of trial and error, largely by Misanth 🐙, from the frontline.❤ Misanth and co have now achieved over 20 recorded cohorts to date! 🥈(Medal NFT required methinks)… Check out some details of the evolution, with a deep dive right here. 🏊🏼♂️ tenfinney and tommy are currently working on Chakra typeforms to help stremline octofication. Rankko has been focused on the role select bug hacking among general Innkeeping.

Aaron-TheCreator and Russlive215 came and introed 40Acres DAO. This DAO is onboarding, focused on minorities, people of colour, anyone underserved, into Crypto and Web3. 💪🏿 This rapidly evolving collective is engaging, educating and empowering to create self sustaining independent community! 🌍 The main focus so far is on NFTs and coding initiatives. Jovian from Panvala talked to us about Designing Diversity into DAOs. With a focus on women, as 50% of us, Jovian explored statistical, social, cultural and financial parameters affecting women’s lower involvement in Web3 so far. 🤔🔍
Drawing on research from Diamond DAO, GitCoin and GitHub, estimated involvement is currently 5-10% women in Web3. 😥 How can we remove blockers preventing the necessary shift to a minimum 30% + required for the much needed, healthy paradigm and governance shifts women bring? Thena from Sourcecred DAO came to help improve understanding of XP conversions to Seed. 🌱 Using new teaching/learning resources Thena communicated and displayed Sourcecred distribution inner workings and reasons for XP variations in a concentrated way. 🧠 This download in a short period of time was most beneficial at first for devs/builders. Such a complex subject! However, there are some great Interactive Simulators (especially good for non tech folks) and a ton of useful and relevant info to be found on Miro here. 👈🏿👀
Next we met with LA based Lani Trock, who shared her viewpoints and involvements in Web3 and 3D as a Philosophical Artist in residence, working in multiple mediums: installations, sculpture, music, movement, AV etc! With a vision of unifying, holistic and heart centered practice and evolution of peaceful consciousness Lani shared her passion, drawing on involvement in GitcoinDAO, the founding of GenreDAO etc

Maria Helena Trad a long standing visual artist, who studied sculpture and photography and has been funded in residence, came and shared about Public Art NFTs, bringing NFTs to public spaces. She shared her new project using NFTs to benefit indigenous communities through significant NFT royalties. Check it out here, or get in touch through her Twitter. Few more notes here.
MetaVerse Music Fest met MetaGame for a great Sunday Funday where Musashi13 gave a little tutorial on building wearables with MagicaVoxel. Hopefully some funky stuff will appear on MetaGamers for the Festi starting today! Folks toured some stages and got excited, and had a bit of a play around in Neos.
Landslug role got struck off for a minute, newcomers going straight to Curious Octo. So manual got added to the workload, in light of some urgent Wick bot issues (verify). Fingers crossed all sorted soon Misanth is onto it. 🤞🏽 We miss you penguin (not just this way either)!
Discussion is underway… create new @Librarian sub-role? These info hounds would be adepts at guiding new people through the info storm… Rankko is running with this.

Dave and Alec are also working further on the Role Select UI. The dynamic progress bar for ‘step nav’ that adjusts its form according to screen size is very nice.

dysbulic and Huxwell did a load of work using IDX to interact with Ceramic for MyMeta profiles. IDX has however been deprecated by Ceramic and so much of this work now needs re doing sadly, going via Glaze instead. 😥 dysbulic has been working with Glaze for an ETHOnline hack and made a super useful video time-stamping and tagging application, CallMeta, see a sneak preview here. 🎥 The Glaze work is now continuing into MyMeta. Again from dysbulic is SourceCred Contributions Explorer Beta tool, also much approved of by Thena. 🎯

tenfinney is Wizarding away, true rogue style, with his Donut Chakra elements projects and ongoing tuning up the Cryptovoxels spaces as well, his weekly calls are often an hour or so before Playbooks calls on Thursdays and increasingly popular. 🎨🧙🏻♂️
Mattereum Carbon Offset NFT development is underway. There is definitely a buzz around this but, not seeing anything premium in there yet! 🐝 The think tank has been throwing up lots of ideas. That became voting. Opinion is weighing towards having different types of NFT for each of these categories... 👍🏽 Nomad, Dweller, Household, Jet Setter, Industrial. Awesome Artistic opportunity to make an ecological imprint go far and wide via Vinay’s many tentacled epic networks.. just sayin.. 👈🏽

Writing Playbooks has taken a new turn. It is currently a major blocker towards the readiness for Rainmaking. Lately, to say it has been slow for a Core Raid, well… 🤐 While MyMeta is pretty much basic ready, we need to really, REALLY push Playbooks right now! So for the Playbooks calls the last few Thursdays there’s been a new agenda. The Player Association Jam has become a focal point for approaching players directly with requests. 🤔 Basically it has come down to an internal Headhunt.. 😲 Guild leaders in particular are in focus. Next, expect a DM conscripting/begging you to write us a Playbook, 😅 about the stuff you are into. Lets all rally and raid this like a bunch of Vikings on speed! 🪓🤪
📈Growth
Michiel executed the mint with assistance from penguin and luxumbra. 🌱 The first successful one without involvement from Metadreamer is a definite milestone. ✔🏁 With core accounts now being transferred to multi-sig members the keys are now firmly in the DAOs hands. In addition, greater exploration and understanding of Sourcecred dynamics means, we should see more timely and organised mints moving forward.. 😇 This can only serve to aid retention and ‘make MetaGame great again!’ 😅
So shilling has been going strong still, despite Fearless Thompson being busy with ETHGlobal hacking and Anna Kaic having moved halfway across globe! 📢 With the outputs varying between event notifications, videos, existing content and culturally relevant memes. 💪🏼 More is going on behind the scenes towards Twitter and YouTube transmissions. Fearless has a few tentacles busy with moar vid related learning and planning, with b0gie in particular. Meanwhile, Anna Kaic is building bridges and working on the growth of MetaGame in general. 😍

Working with HBesso31 to join forces with the Blockchain Academy Mexico (BAM). With over 3000 students throughout Latin America, they can be great allies. After a number of calls, and a vote, 4 BAM students will get a MetaGame grant and BAM Boot Camps for MyMeta hacking coming up too from that collab. 📈
Working on a MetaGame proposal for UBI (Universal Basic Income) Blockchain Collective specifically, for hunting heads and general exposure. 🎯
Anna & HBesso are however, far from the only ones shilling & bridgebuilding! Eowulia & peth have ventured out to Lisbon for LisCon & a load of other crypto meetups & gatherings - even organized one themselves, the first Meta420 meetup 😱. Other than that, peth spoke about MetaGame at Liscon & they have given out something like 150 MetaManifesto coasters, 30 stickers & 10 shirts.
While doing that, they’ve made connections, rekindled old relationships & built bridges.

ETHGlobal Hackathon was Octo-hacked by Michiel, Fearless Thompson, luxumbra, Bagholder McFomo III and opm. Great to see a focus group with varied skillsets working together as reps of MetaGame and getting us seen by the wider Ethereum community. 💡 Check out the dynamic NFT governed, IDO platform project here.
While these hackathons can be viewed as time and energy directed away from MetaGame, perhaps we can grow our economy’s reach now, by further developing and integrating these offshoots (DAOMoon and/or this one)? This is an ongoing discussion and hope of some of us. Fearless Thompson continues to develop ideas and a few recent ones are documented here. Meanwhile, Balancer V2 is still an idea bubbling away in the background until its co-ordination can be organised. Running a mock on testnet is one idea being explored by Bacon at the moment for this. He could certainly use support for this. 😅 In a nutshell, 🐿 many efforts continue leading us towards greater funding and… 🚀the future.
