What's going on?!
For those who missed the past few newsletters:
MetaFest is our virtual festival/conference/hackathon
By now, weâre almost mid-way through Week 1.
For now, youâve only missed penguinâs & mine awkward launch speech, some socializing, a weird Nifty Ink wannabe Pictionary session, a few cool NFTs & maybe a little Minecraft session with 1Hive - but no more than that!

Coming up:
Week 1 - Social & Gaming
We focused most of our time on getting great speakers & great workshops, so the the schedule for the festival week is admittedly weakest:
Tuesday - The start of the crypto-enabled Minecraft sessions hosted by 1Hive
Wednesday - Come play some Scrabble with MetaFam, then go on to Circles UBI Poker with Panvala & friends
Thursday - Axie Infinity with Jihoz, then Mithraeum with Vitaliy followed by the WIP meetup, hosted in our cryptovoxels HQ
Friday - A Trivia session followed by a party in cryptovoxels led by Matteo Tambussi of ETHLocal & his friend Remo Frisina from Ibiza playing music
Saturday - Speed dating with live minting NFTs, followed by an open mic night for whoever wants to talk about whatever, play us some music, ask anything or whatever, topped off by a 420 Shitposting session. Finally, Valheim!
Sunday - A scavenger hunt (or two) in our cryptovoxels HQ, solve the lyrics puzzle or search for clues & win NFTs or Seeds. Followed by a Valheim gaming session - gonna have to buy it if you want to play unfortunately; guilders promise its a good game tho. đ
Week 2 - Talks
Wonât go into scheduling details, but expect a jam packed week
Monday - aka Community Day is set aside for the MetaFest keynote panel as well as talks from our dear community members and some from the outskirts. From âHow To Argueâ & âNetwork Weavingâ to âNetworked mediaâ, âBuilding Creative Commonsâ & âBuilding Decentralized Societiesâ.
Tuesday - aka DeFi Day is set for the people of the decentralized finance ecosystem. Kicking off by a panel of great speakers, representing Aave, Sushiswap, C.R.E.A.M. & more. Going through Balancer v2 & DeFi Saver All the way up to scaling with Polygon.
Wednesday - aka Meta Day is probably the most interesting of days. It will include things such as a panel on âSlaying Molochâ with Ameen Soleimani, Kevin Owocki, Vinay Gupta & myself, âDAOs Toward Regenerative Developmentâ, âStealing Culture With MetaGameâ & âSquad Wealthâ.
I wonât list any further but Iâm sure this day will blow your mind.Thursday - aka Guild Day is here to give you an overview of our close ecosystem, presentations from pretty much all the Guilds of MetaGame; Sourcecred, Raid Guild, DAOHaus, MetaFactory, Bloom Network & all the rest of the crews.
Friday - aka NFTs Day; thereâs no denying NFTs have been all the rage lately, so of course they deserve their own day. From the regular art NFTs, to wildlife preservation NFTs all the way to real world asset NFTs - youâre bound to hear all about it. Been wondering what the hype is about? Come & find out.
Saturday - aka Party Day; so you donât say weâre being fake by calling it a festival & only having a week of fun things. Why is this a special day? Because its the Season 2 launch day! A launch ceremony along with carbon offsetting & awards giving, with the whole event & the afterparty soundtracked by DAOrecords.
Week 3 - Workshops
Oh boy do we have things in store for you during the workshop week!
The schedule is still being setup, but expect something like 15 workshops ranging on anything from paper toy making, NFT minting, & writing smart contracts to guided meditation, using DeFi & even freestyling đ¤Ż
Week 4 - Hackalong
Finally, we know that 3 weeks filled with great content didnât give you enough time to actually hack on things - so the final week will be a quiet week.
Save for some feedback & helping sessions, the schedule will be mostly empty for you to focus on actually doing things.
