In January we had two community calls and two Hackerspace sessions.

Community calls & Hackerspaces ☎️

• January 20: Zemm from Coordinape dropped in to tell us all about Colinks, and Cryptotraveler from TimbuktuDAO dropped in to chat about African web3 culture and products.

• January 26: Alex from Kleros came in to talk about creating resilient DAOs, and James from Octant gave an intro to their work on experiments in decentralized governance.

• January 17: Bulwark, anti phishing browser extension, with d0wnlore

• January 31: TKN, decentralized token registry, with kindness.eth

There were more Community Calls and Town Halls in February:

• February 2: Wasabi took us on a deep dive into the launch of Kokonut v1 (Replay on Youtube)

• February 10: Anna Kaic of Refi DAO came in for a chat, and M3’s Jin gave us a demo on using Luna to build MetaVill for MetaFam.

• February 16: The Awakening Town Hall! Listen to the Awakening on Youtube, then check out Part 2, with Vinay Gupta of Mattereum talking on what’s next for Ethereum

• February 23: Artem of Harmonica AI and rnDAO visited, and we also had Eric Mack of JournoDAO & ConsenSys in for a talk

Also in community happenings

• joseacabrerav reached out to pretty much all players & patrons

• Follow-ups with Awakening attendees & Trial role holders, townhalls and player alignments hosting, and booking of guests for townhalls and the podcast were done by peth

• Props to peth and joseacabrerav for the set up and operation of the various community gatherings and town halls, and to vanessagil for the promo

Other than calls:

• Following up with potential DAOs from DAOcember, cleaning up the invite list, cleaning up the bridgebuilding board & cleaning up the list of guilds inside MetaGame was done by peth, in preparation for continuation of bridgebuilding

• First of many user testing interviews was also conducted ahead of Reawakening.

The Awakening

📱 Technology

• The UX refresh of www.enter.metagame.wtf continued—we’ve linked in Seed and XP rewards to the Quests, fixed up the calendar integration and upgraded the image storage, increased the speed by trimming dependencies, extended the search functionality to more of the site, and made a bunch of tweaks and fixes

• Global search query bug fixed along with the inability to scroll the players page, the filters flickering & other filter issues, by Udit Takkar

• Important things you might not notice: new wallet handler on the ‘Chieves site, improved analytics, smoother image uploads for your profile, better Guild sync capabilities

Props to Udit Takkar, Alec, nitegeist, with extra extra props to Sero and dysbulic in particular

• Whole new Seeds page - with vid coding up peth and Dave’s design; we’ll see a refresh of the Playbooks site section thanks to vid and peth, and you might spot a special starfield background on the website after a little luxumbra magic

• The MetaLinks project (kind of like Linktree) was set up, with the ability to display NTFs (Udit Takkar, Sero)

• See the new version of the MetaGame logo on the website? Sero did that

• A bug in the Guilds page was fixed, and MetaGame profiles now pull in your mainnet NFTs - again - as well as Polygon, OP, and Eth mainnet (Sero)

• A bug in the Quest Chains submissions was fixed by dan13ram and vid. Go ahead and submit your quests

• Thanks to Alec for dropping in on the Builder’s align and taking care of some PRs

• New landing page was designed by peth & deployed by Polimyl

• Work on the website is getting faster? dysbulic has been messing about with build configurations, database seeding, and improve tree shaking in the MyMeta codebase

🍰 Content

• A Shitton of Content - All of the MetaFest recordings

• All of the Quests were edited and refreshed by peth

• New simplified version of the Onboarding Game by peth

• A Humans Of MetaGame podcast episode with Sero was published, a new Rabbit Hole series with METADREAMER was released

• Promo video for the Awakening event (production by eowulia)

• All Playbooks in the academy were updated & a bunch new added by peth

• Cheers to BorrowLucid for helping with part of this issue of MetaNews!

🌱 Growth

We had a clean up to help us prep for the next phase, with a review of processes and finances from Sero

• We’ve onboarded JournoDAO to MetaGame

• Also: our Giveth profile was updated with the latest (thanks to vanessagil), we teamed up with Raid Guild and Pockt DAO on a survey (set up by peth),

• We got $25k from The Octant, giving us runway for >3 months

• MetaGame players and patrons got all the info about MetaGame's Awakening courtesy of joseacabrerav

• We made flyers to pass out during the MetaGame ETHDenver raid (peth, koH)

• The deck to present at the launch was updated and the roadmap & products description had a rewrite (peth)

• We officially have 2x $ than is MetaGame’s market cap.
