Broadcasting straight from Amsterdam, a full-blown blockchain week is taking place. A good chunk of the European MetaFam is still here and this is one of the best opportunities for a temperature check on what is happening at DevConnect.

This year’s ETHAmsterdam is thus far… very unique. It has the biggest representation of DAOs as well as Regenerative projects compared to any other blockchain event, as well as newly emerging movements such as DeSci (Decentralized Science) and DAO Research. The diversity of voices and projects is also very apparent, amplified by the inclusive multicultural context of Amsterdam.
An experienced journalist (which DevConnect had no shortage of) would say that the whole conference is even a historically important happening, assembling some of the most intelligent and ambitious people in the same place. The signs of collective creativity stemming from this borderless cross-pollination have already started making themselves evident and shine a light of hope in the darkness of current world events.
But DevConnect is especially important for MetaGame because it’s the biggest IRL MetaGame gathering so far. The MetaFam has been crushing Blockchain events all around Amsterdam making its presence felt and vandalizing public spaces with stickers 💯💯
Two events have been of special interest for the MetaFam pack; the Global Governance Gathering organized by the Daoist and Schelling Point.
MetaGame has had its fair amount of participation:
peth had been part of a panel named The State of DAO Tooling aka The SaaS’ification of DAOs discussing the current boom in DAO Tooling, its problems as well as what the future holds.
UniPuff has been very active on the DeSci part of DevConnect taking part in the roundtable discussions around Open Problems in DAO Science along with members of Metagov, DAO Research and Smart Contract Research Forum.
roseight, with the help of UniPuff and members of DAO Native, has organized a workshop around Workshop: Criticism as Public Good followed-up by a booth where very interesting discussions happened. Join the telegram of the newly emergent Philosopher DAO to take part in them and steer the future of web3 in the right direction 😉
Penguin came all the way from the US and brought some DIY MetaGame branded merch
Bau, Victor and UniPuff have also started hacking on a new proj proj for simplifying house booking for future Ethereum events; DudsHaus.
Pictures and footage of the Metagang in action in the streets of Amsterdam are plenty but the MetaFam is also kindly asking you to send your own footage from DevConnect events and Amsterdam (especially wide-lens pics showing the space). MetaGame is gonna cook something very yummy with all these stuff but we can’t spoil it yet😉. If you have some, don’t hesitate to send them in this telegram chat.
One thing that became immediately clear with Amsterdam is that it is almost impossible to do some actual work with so much stuff going on. Endless events, people to meet, daily parties as well as constant moving from place to place like a nomadic tribe, made it all the more difficult to achieve any sort of deep focus.
Fortunately, the MetaFam is big and decentralized enough so as not to worry about losing momentum. So this is a big shoutout to tommy, luxumbra, dysbulic, tenfinney, musashi, bagholder, prettyscone shans, vid, beti, HHH and everyone else who have carried the torch and have generated amazing achievements for MetaGame even with half the workforce missing. The rest of the Chainlog is devoted to these committed heroes of MetaGame.

Musashi13 has been working on the promo and ideas for performances during the festival
Web Three Prophet has shilled the MetaFest Job Fair to MetaAlliance members

DevConnect enabled unprecedented cross-contamination of people and ideas whose effects have yet to be truly felt.
But if there is one thing it has made totally certain is that there needs to be more IRL action, more flesh n’ bone meetups and more close proximity co-working. But getting people from all continents together in one place is still a challenge.
So, before we get our shit together in the Meatverse let’s all meet at the Metaverse! MetaFest2 is gonna be lit, don’t sleep on it!
