Receive some tokens and do some public goods allocatin‘

In case you want to do some public goods funding allocation but don‘t have your own GLM to stake, the fine folk at The Octant have decided to airdrop some GLM to communities of public good projects!

The only catch is - you have to stake it and actually use it for allocating public goods funding at least until February 2025.

Wait, WTF is The Octant?

For those unfamiliar with The Octant, it‘s one of the newest and most well funded public goods funding mechanisms - let me give you a little backstory!

The Octant comes from The Golem Foundation.

The Golem project has been around for a while - in fact, they raised a whopping 820,000 ETH back in 2016, with the purpose of building a decentralized GPU network.

The project is still going, but the team has also meanwhile thought hey, since we have all of this ETH, we might as well stake it and use it to support public goods!

Which is exactly what they then did - by building The Octant.

Impact so far

The Octant has been going for a year now, with 4 seasons behind it.

In total, over $4m worth of ETH has been distributed to 50ish projects.

MetaGame has benefitted greatly from The Octant program, and we did our best to promote The Octant so that more people hear about it, and more projects benefit from it.

Currently

The Octant community of GLM stakers just finished picking 15 projects from a list of 42 to join the next Octant round.

Next step will be the GLM allocating rewards to the full list of projects that are a part of epoch 3 (the ones from last round + 15 new)

The allocation window opens on October 13th, but you need to stake GLM asap for your votes to have as much impact as possible. The longer its staked, the higher your weight!
