⛈️ The Great Flood
This meme has long been on my to-write list.
When I originally planned on writing it, I thought we’d be lacking any proper liquidity for a long time after publishing it; selling 1 eth worth of Seeds still moves the price by almost 1%, but $350k liquidity in a $1m marketcap token is by no means laughable.
So, what it The Great Flood?
The Great Flood is a time of ridiculous amounts of Ether pouring down onto the Seed plantation.
When?
When the MetaOS is ready to start onboarding thousands of creators into the Ethereum ecosystem to build through the next great crypto winter.
When most of the Seeds have been planted & we’re waiting for Trees to grow.
When the price of Ether peaks & Ethereans are eager to seed the next wave of innovation by closing the feedback loop.
We predict The Great Flood to take place sometime around the first day of Winter.
This will be a time when The 300 of MetaGame list is finalized and Phase II begins.
Spring is the planting season, but do consider planting your Seeds ahead of others 😉
Wait, who are The 300 of MetaGame?
150 Players & 150 Patrons; essentially the Founders of MetaGame.
The ones who will build out the MetaOS 1.0 & summon The Great Flood.
Now, let’s explore some of the possible usecases for Seeds.
🤔 What are Seeds for?
“What are Seeds for?” has been an often asked question.
My usual answer: Seeds are how the people who are building MetaGame exchange value with the people who want to support MetaGame financially.
Given we’re not lacking funds, coming up with Seed sinks wasn’t really our concern. We really wanted to get the basic infrastructure up before monetizing anything.
Well, that basic infrastructure has been laid out and the community now has something like $1.2m worth of Seeds laying around. 🙃
Also, we’re building an entire gamified socioeconomic system, so finding use for money shouldn’t be much trouble 😁
So, lets take a look at some of the currently possible & potential ways of using Seeds.

In the future:

💸 to pay for likes/upvotes.

🥩 Staking Seeds
Here are some of the things people might be required to stake Seeds for.
As you might already know; in MetaGame, we don’t believe in rating humans.
We’re building a future we want to live in, and a future in which humans rate each other on a 1-5 star system is definitely not the kind of future we want to live in.
Instead, players of MetaGame will be required to stake some of their skin in the game.

🥩 as collateral for your personal token
🥩 to enter a contract with someone
🥩 when claiming the metafam.eth subdomain

writing reviews & recommendations will require staking.

by investing directly into the initiatives you think will be most valuable to the community, through the “boosting” system.
🌱 Planting Seeds
If you’re confused as to what “planting Seeds” means, it means using your Seeds by putting them into the Balancer pool aka the Seed plantation.
🌱 to be eligible for MetaFam-only limited edition merch.
🌱 to be eligible for random drops & the Phase II token.
🌱 to stay in the game as a patron.

As you might know already, the top ~56 of each; players & patrons, will be ranked in leagues. Well, leagues come with their perks!

Penguin goes to the Great Shitcoin Showdown, battles Seeds against Yam - and wins!
defileZebra scribes for the Champions Ring & the Community Gathering.
peth continues migrating everything into Notion, building out the Roles page.
Trolleo designs the new archetype icons & starts designing the selection screen.
mrfeelgood starts making the proper MyMeta Dashboard design - not that shitty wireframe I’ve been showing people.
Luxumbra makes a request for Blockfolio to add Seeds - go upvote it.
A lot of great ideas bubble up in the #onboarding channel in regards to helping people find their way in MetaGame
AtHeartEngineer gains control of the abandoned r/MetaGame subreddit.
The Community Gathering goes great! Starting off with talks about sustainable agriculture & the first MetaGame outposts coming up in a few months, before continuing into other weirdness.
5 new players join the game & 5 are removed.
2 of them make a comeback as patrons.
We pay out something like $120k for contributors this month, with more than half of it going to the people who never claimed any Seeds.
To those who are wondering “how is the pay so good?”, it might be because you’re not used to getting paid on the value you create 🙃
The old saying of “the whole is greater than the sum of its part” is also a good explanation. 😊
Your time spent as a stand-alone thing might not be worth much, but your time spent (invested?) into this thing specifically, is worth much more.
You get paid based on value you create, not based on your minimum-acceptable hourly wage - without bosses or C-level executives getting away with your cream.
