Community Gatherings - January, February & March!
With every new week, comes a great Community Gathering. What has MetaGame been up to in the community side of things? Read on.
Each Friday, MetaGame hosts a community gathering. Our Townhall is filled with the joy of players gathered to welcome amazing projects & learn together. Guests tell us what theyâve been working on, we ask questions and we thrive đ
So far this season đ„
This season we've hosted a wide variety of projects: from social good, to wellness, to Web3 education & tokenization; since DAOcember weâve done our best to capture the words of wisdom from our guests. Many thanks to dys, bOgie and KoH for making it happen!
DoinGud
0xSDR of DoinGud shared how theyâre bringing social impact and public goods to use Web3 tech and gave us the scoop on how theyâre opening up to become a DAO and a protocol that enables all open source projects to stream funds to social impact organizations. âAt this stage where everything is hyperfocused on crypto and NFTs we want to be uplifting and showcasing the really good work thatâs actually happening in the spaceâ, he said.
MGD DAO
Rome of MGD DAO (Metagammadelta) shared how theyâre supporting women-led projects and initiatives, onboarding women into Web3 and offering an inclusive space. âItâs been so far the most helpful in my journey through the Web3 space and I want to offer that to other women'', she shared.
RnDAO
Daniel Ospina of RnDAO spoke with us about how theyâre integrating their expertise in organization design, governance and all aspects of human social science and key organization processes into the DAOing. In that sense, they started a project for measuring community health and theyâre building a DAO community analytics platform. Read more about their community health insights here.
Twoplus
Louis of Twoplus shared with us how his own experience with burnout led to this project for a mental fitness community and platform in Web3. In his words, âeveryone benefits from taking care of their mental health by being intentional and proactive about it. With mental fitness the intention is to word this and to bring this to a western audience and to Web3 in a way that is much simplerâ.
UrbĂĄnika
Anna of UrbĂĄnika gave us a look at their immersive activism school on Web3, addressed to policy makers, entrepreneurs and urban activists from local real-life communities, with the goal of facilitating city-wise coordination through the emergence of urban commons as DAOs. âPolicy makers need also to hear about these things, they need this type of education because we cannot make a change if this system doesnât change''.
SageValley
Wolf of SageValley spoke about their community, education center and ecovillage, and how theyâre starting to learn about Web3 and are open to all its possibilities to integrate to the project, in line with the best ways of living that they promote.
BuidlGuidl
Cryptomastery gave us a good introduction on scaffold-eth, the framework theyâre using at BuidlGuidl, a learning platform for builders in the space.
EthernautDAO
Dhannte of EthernautDAO spoke about how theyâre bridging Web2 senior devs to Web3. âWe started to train senior developers from other industries and we ended up understanding that with the two-month training you can have really good core contributors to Web3 really fastâ.Â
Quests.xyz
richiebonilla told us all about quests.xyz, which is a socially verified portfolio of work for contributors with a social proof built-in. All of this through a quests system that allows everyone to list their contributions and have them verified to receive a commemorative NFT for the work theyâve done for a sovereign professional graph of your connections. âIt commemorates what happened and it puts your professional network on-chain for people youâve actually worked withâ.
Panvala
Niran of PanvalaHQ got us hyped with an awesome presentation to show us how they help communities earn funding by collecting Panvala Stamps.
Giveth
Karmaticacid of Giveth joined us to share more about GIV Power and give us a tour of this awesome project curation platform through which the community can support - or âboostâ- their favorite projects. âThe purpose is to make it an easy gamified way of curating projects where at the same time youâre also earning rewardsâ.
Happily Ever After
Jan Yo from Happily Ever After started the evening with a meditation, a great way for introducing their network of health and well-being spaces. âWe realized that to change or improve our lifestyle with healthy habits is not a technological problem; it is actually a social problemâ.
MeTokens
Chris of Metokens introduced their innovative token design aimed to leverage the speculation in the space towards the well-being of individuals and communities.
0xJustice
We welcomed 0XJustice to learn more about his Web3 journey and, more than a background, he went deep on the things that are shaping his thinking in the space.
Cohere Network
Dakota from Cohere Network spoke to us about how theyâre building a decentralized network of regenerative communities. âWeâre out to accelerate the development of regenerative nodes in strategic places around the worldâ.
Karma
Murthy of KarmaHQ explained to us in depth their data-driven tools to get visibility into their member contributions while also increasing engagement and accountability.
Infinity Keys
Chair of Infinity Keys shared their incentive-based game platform built around the idea of engaging users through puzzle style games with the goal of connecting players into one ecosystem.
Penguin
Then it was time for Penguin, one of our beloved devs. He revealed the reason for his handle and how he came across MetaGame in the early days reading on the internet and went through the rabbit hole from there. He reminisced about the first Metafest, in which he hosted and recognized the value of the experiences and connections that people build during their time in MetaGame. Then explained more about his project mud.xyz and Battle for Evermore, the text-based game he created in 2020.Â
Joseacabrera
Our first guest player was Joseacabrera, known for hodling the vibe with his tunes. Heâs been connecting humans and doing some bridgebuilding around, which earned him the recognition as the player of the month for DAOcember. He shared with us more about his path in Web3 and the weaving of happy events that brought him to MetaGame. Then -of course- he played some of his original songs for us.
